Arnold Newman
Arnold Newman was a celebrated American photographer known for his environmental portraits. Most of his photographs are in a work space. Many of his pictures look like they belong in a magazine. I can't really determine what focal point of the photo but I would say that the focal point is his face and hands. In the photo he has a business like posture. His facial expression is serious and his fingers are folded like his is in control of everything that is going on behind him. It looks as though he is in a train factory. The shading and detailing of the photo is very significant. You can see everything on the wall, the shading on his forehead, and the lighting behind him. With this picture he has sent a message or told a story. A perfect example for a environmental portrait.
