Sebastiao Salgado

Sebastiao Salgado is a Brazilian social documentary photographer and photojournalist. This photo is showing the slaves of gold. 

The first thing I noticed in the photo was the people all the way in the background just watching the person that is in the middle of photo working very hard. However, there are other people in the dirt digging for gold. With that many people in attendance it shows the greed for gold. Based on his posture it looks like he is in a extreme working condition. In the 1980s, digging for gold was a major thing. On the other hand, I think that Sebastiao is exposing the greed, harsh working conditions, and the horror.
